The Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine, Division of EMS provides medical authorization, oversight and continuing education for area pre-hospital providers.
The Division additionally functions to support EMS providers in their roles and to improve the transition of care between prehospital and in-hospital providers.

Margaret Noonan, MD
EMS Medical Director
Dr. Margaret Noonan is an Emergency Medicine physician who has been a part of Hartford Healthcare since April 2020, when she started working in the Charlotte Hungerford ED. She graduated from medical school at the University of TX Health Science Center in San Antonio, and completed her residency in EM at Harbor-UCLA in Los Angeles, CA. The following year she moved to Houston, TX for a fellowship in Global Health and supervised residents at Memorial Herman and LBJ hospitals. Upon the completion of her fellowship, she moved to CT to start a family and career in community medicine, working at St. Mary’s Hospital until her move to the northwest corner and transition to Charlotte Hungerford. Currently, she also works clinically at the Winsted ED and has also become more involved with EMS services in the area, now the Region 5 Medical Advisory Committee Chairperson and representative to CEMSMAC, as well as enjoying her involvement in the continuing education of the volunteer services of Region 5. In her free time, she spends time with her family, enjoys oil painting, building projects, gardening and cooking from what she grows, and SCUBA diving when she can.
Trisha Wain, MS, NRP, EMS-I
EMS Coordinator
Trish began her EMS career in 2009, working for a variety of volunteer and municipal EMS agencies. After completing undergraduate studies, Trish attended Capital Community College’s paramedic program and graduated in February 2013. Before coming to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in 2019, Trish worked as a 911, intercept, and critical care transport paramedic in both commercial and hospital-based EMS systems. Outside of EMS, Trish serves as an associate professor of Biology & Health Sciences and is currently completing her MPA in Emergency Management.
